MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The minsiter also stressed that the criteria for choosing athletes as targets for retesting needs to be clarified.

"The Russian Olympic Committee reported eight [positive] tests, but we are talking about the entire national team, which is 430 people. And we would like to understand what criteria are used to recheck samples, as there are 10,000 athletes taking part in the competitions. Why are specific athletes being retested? Or are they all retested? We don't know anything," Mutko told R-Sport.

"The more transparent this system becomes, the more credibility it will have," he added.
