RT global news network has launched a Spanish-language service in Bolivia where it will be hosted by the national Entel TV telecom company, according to a RT press statement.

Taking a heavy handed swipe against Sputnik and RT, Brussels-based EUobserver touted the European Union's official plans to counter Russian propaganda, including proposals for tightened regulations against Russian media in Europe, and the establishment of a new EU agency charged with 'promoting EU policy' in the former Soviet space. - Sputnik International

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The channel will be launched on a Direct to Home (DTH) distribution platform. It will be available across the entire South American nation.

RT’s Spanish-language service was launched in 2009. Since 2014, it has significantly expanded its broadcasting across Latin America.

"We are glad that the Bolivian state company has agreed to include the RT television channel into all its TV packages," RT Spanish Director Viktoria Vorontsova said.

"Our launch on the national Entel TV platform will give Bolivian viewers access to an alternative viewpoint on events and offset the mainstream media in the region."
