The National Police Department is authorized to determine the location of the 52 PKK activists and gather information on the attacks allegedly organized by them, the daily said.

In cases where the suspect lives abroad, Turkey’s Justice Ministry can apply to issue a Red Notice through Interpol, for the search and arrest, with subsequent extradition, of a person wanted in a different judicial jurisdiction, according to Haberturk.

The investigation into the activities of the PKK leadership was launched in 2011.

Turkey is currently carrying out a military operation against PKK militants in northern Iraq.
