NEW YORK (Sputnik) – A motorcycle club consisting of past and present Russian-American police officers will hold its first annual meeting in New York City, Spetsnaz Motor Club President German Bickbau told Sputnik on Friday.

“On August 10, we will hold our first annual meeting of the club Spetsnaz LE MC in New York City,” Bickbau said. “We invite all fans of motorcycles, all those wanting to do good deeds and not remain in the shadows, to join us.”

The Spetsnaz Motor Club, named after a Russian military Special Forces unit, was formed in May 2015. The club unites former employees of the Special Forces, retired and current police of the United States and the former Soviet Union, according to Bickbau.

“This is a new specially designed motorcycle club,” Bickbau said. “The most important goal of the club is to assist and support families of dead policemen.”

The club, which is a registered non-profit organization, plans to participate in numerous charity events and races in an effort to donate proceeds to families in need.

The club is headquartered in the US state of Florida, where Bickbau serves as a deputy sheriff in Broward County.

The club is currently in the process of negotiating the establishment of branches in New York, New Jersey and other US states.
