    Pentagon Announces Transfer of Six Yemeni Detainees From Gitmo to Oman

    Six citizens of Yemen will be transferred from Guantanamo Bay detention camp to a prison in Oman within effort to close the Guantanamo facility in Cuba, the US Department of Defense said in a statement Saturday.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The transfer will be compatible with required security measures and human rights standards, according to the statement.

    "The Department of Defense announced today [on Saturday] the transfer of Al Khadr Abdallah Muhammad Al Yafi, Fadel Hussein Saleh Hentif, Abd Al-Rahman Abdullah Au Shabati, and Mohammed Ahmed Salam from the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay to Oman."

    As of Saturday, 122 people remain in detention at Guantanamo Bay detention camp, Pentagon said.
