MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US State Secretary John Kerry was flown in stable condition to Geneva after sustaining an injury in a bicycle accident, local media reported on Sunday.
John Kerry's injury sustained in the French Alps earlier on Sunday was a broken foot, US diplomatic sources said later.
A source from the US delegation involved in nuclear talks with Iranian counterparts told RIA Novosti later that Kerry's injury was a broken foot.
The delegate added that the state secretary will likely cancel his trip to Madrid, Spain scheduled for the latter half of Sunday.
Kerry was transported to Geneva University Hospital by helicopter after suffering a leg injury in the French Alps, according to Sky News.
He was reportedly injured near the French town of Scionzier, less than 25 miles from the Swiss border, where the state secretary had been holding nuclear talks with his Iranian counterpart.
