The purchase of three houses in New York cost the Russian businessman $70 million and is expected to break the record for the Big Apple’s private residences.

MOSCOW, January 19 (Sputnik) — Roman Abramovich has purchased three houses in an elite neighborhood of New York City for his girlfriend Daria Zhukova, lenta.ru reported on Monday.

The property cost Abramovich $70 million. According to the website, the Russian businessman is dreaming of living there with his family – his girlfriend and mother of his two youngest children – Daria Zhukova.

Despite the fact that the family usually resides in London, Zhukova, co-founder of the fashion label Kova & T often, often visits the Big Apple for fashion shows and meeting with friends.

The residence is expected to be the largest among private houses in the metropolitan area.

Zhukhova and Abramovich who have been dating since 2005 and have two children, have been the object of constant media rumors over alleged adultery and break-ups.  Recently, Zhukova was seen in company with Leonardo Leonardo DiCaprio near a “New York City hotel”.  The meeting might have had a business character, but paparazzi were quick to narrate a new romantic affair between the Hollywood star and Russian oligarch’s girlfriend.
