According to a monthly survey carried out in 24 countries around the world, 35 percent of UK citizens feel financially secure and 27 percent have a positive outlook for the future when it comes to their personal finances. The British were the most optimistic about their future financial welfare out of the European Union. British confidence in finances has increased one percent since September.

Germans feel more confident about the strength of their national economy than Britons, but only 32 percent of them feel financially stable at the moment and only 24 are optimistic about their personal financial future. Germany and other EU members ranking further down the list have a trend toward pessimism about their financial prospects, except for Hungarians, whose financial enthusiasm strengthened by three percent, according to the research data.
Of all Europeans, Italians felt the least confident in their financial welfare. Only 12 percent said that they felt financially secure at the moment.
The data was collected by the Ipsos monitoring group between October 7 and October 21, 2014, and tracks the current financial climate, how comfortable people feel making a major purchase compared with six months ago, and people's expectation for their financial situation six months from now.
