MOSCOW, October 2 (RIA Novosti) - The most influential international event in electronic commerce and technology, the 6th annual Global Webit Congress, ended on October 2, 2014.

The congress, which took place in Istanbul, Turkey, was a great success, event coordinator Adriana Paneva told RIA Novosti.

“The congress was a success. It was attended by world leaders in mobile technologies, electronic commerce, internet marketing and telecommunications,” Paneva said.

The Global Webit-2014 Congress was attended by approximately 10,000 delegates from 110 countries. During the two-day gathering, the participants listened to over 200 world-class speakers. The congress consisted of two parallel zones: the Digital zone, the Digital Marketing and Innovation Expo and Conference, which focused on marketing and e-commerce; and the Tech zone, the Leaders of the Future Expo and Summit, which covered technological innovation.

According to the event organizer, Plamen Russev, the congress was attended by many people willing to invest in various capital projects. “Just like at the previous Webit congresses, we were talking about innovations and money,” he noted.

The “Brand: Social Strategies & Storytelling” panel was especially popular. It was conducted by representatives of large organizations and companies, like UNICEF, Coca Cola, Lego and Lufthansa. Jim Rosenberg, UNICEF’s Chief Digital Strategy Officer, stressed the importance of the minute details of the techniques used in marketing products that greatly improve the process.

Dominic Trigg, Managing Director at Rocket Fuel Europe, conducted an especially vivid lecture about the importance of human interaction with high-tech devices and self-teaching systems. “By 2020, there will be 26 billion devices connected to the Internet. A large-scale implementation of autonomous devices and mechanisms will begin. It will make people’s lives easier and will improve the speed of a decision-making process,” Trigg predicted.

Top-ranking executives and specialists, including CTOs, CIOs, CMOs, and the heads of the media departments of global and regional advertisers, financial institutions, and retailers, took part in the congress. The event’s participants were able to take part in discussion panels, meet prospective clients and investors, as well as present their own projects at the expo and establish contacts with prospective investors.
