WASHINGTON, October 2 (RIA Novosti) - The United States is likely to face attacks from within, Dave Anthony, the creator of the best-selling Call of Duty video games franchise, has told RIA Novosti at an Atlantic Council's conference.
"My biggest fear ... I think there will be strikes on this country from within. And it's hard to know where it comes from. Maybe ISIS [the Islamic State terrorist group] would do it, for example," Anthony said Wednesday, after taking part in "The Future of Unknown Conflict" discussion held by the think tank.
The military-themed video games' visionary argued that the United States is vulnerable to new kinds of security threats, different from traditional warfare.
"I think that the recognition needs to be that all this technology is moving very, very quickly and the government infrastructure that we have is not set up to deal with this rapidly enough. It can't even deal with what is here today, let alone what is coming tomorrow," Anthony said.
The writer and director of several video games from the Call of Duty franchise was invited to the Atlantic Council's Future of War project to help "think outside of the box" on potential future threats. The Washington-based Council believes that the video game expert will help creatively inform experts on the possible future threats for the United States.
