MOSCOW, September 11 (RIA Novosti) – The English version of the Russian animated movie ‘Snow Queen 2: Journey continues’ will be voiced by the British actor Sean Bean, the South African Sharlto Copley and two American actresses, Bella Thorne and Isabelle Fuhrman, the movie’s co-producer Timur Bekmambetov told RIA Novosti Wednesday.
“The Snow Queen was originally conceived as an international project with the appropriate level of animation, and the high demand we get from the largest movie markets from around the globe is even more flattering in this regard. As the fairy tale by Andersen, which served as the starting point for our film, this story is universal and will be understood by viewers from different countries,” Bekmambetov said on the sidelines of the Toronto International Film Festival.
Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings) will voice the main character of the new 3D-animated movie, a troll who is in love with princess Mirabel caught in a snowdrift. His rival for the heart of the princess, troll Orme, will be voiced by Sharlto Copley (District 9, Maleficent). Bella Thorne (Blended) will be voicing Gerda and Isabelle Fuhrman (The Hunger Games, Orphan) will be voicing Alfida. Thorn will also sing an original song for the movie.
According to Yuri Moskvin, the movie’s co-producer, the first part of Snow Queen was released in 2012 in more than 35 countries.
Working with such stars as Sean Bean, Sharlto Copley, Bella Thorne and Isabelle Fuhrman will strengthen the international potential of the franchise and will make it attractive to the viewers around the world, the producers said.
The sequel created by Wizart Animation will be released on January 1, 2015 in Russia, the CIS countries, the UK, Poland, South Korea, Israel, the Baltic States, Malaysia, Thailand, the former Yugoslavia and in the Middle East. By the end of 2015, the animated movie will be released in China.
