MOSCOW, August 11 (RIA Novosti) - During his visit to Moscow, a Hollywood celebrity Mickey Rourke purchased a T-shirt with a printed portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin on it.
“I like this guy [Putin],“ the actor explained to journalists Monday during a presentation of clothing brand “Vse Putyom” [Everything is Cool], famous for its Putin T-shirts.
At the presentation, held in the Central Moscow’s GUM department store, Rourke tried on and purchased a grey T-Shirt with an image of Putin on it.
According to “Vse Putyom,” in June, when sales of the collection devoted to Russia’s success on the international arena were launched, more than 5,000 T-shirts were sold in one day. Revenues from the sales were donated to a fund to provide medical treatment to an eight-month-old boy from Slavyansk.
The latest collection of the brand features 15 T-shirt prints, including one with a famous image of Putin in a military uniform riding a horse and one of the Russian president in sunglasses, with slogans like “The most polite man” and “They’re not gonna get us.”
Mickey Rourke is a Hollywood actor, best known for his roles in “Sin City,” “9 ½ weeks,” and “Angel Heart.” Rourke is also a retired boxer.
Later today, Rourke plans to hold an open boxing class and question and answer session at Moscow’s Luzhniki Small Sports Arena.
