MOSCOW, August 6 (RIA Novosti) - Save the Children has launched full-page advertisements across British national newspapers publishing the names of the hundreds of children killed so far in the Gaza conflict, the Belfast Telegraph reported.

"To see the names of the children, some as young as a few months, written in stark black and white brings home the tragedy that has befallen Gaza's children," the Belfast Telegraph quoted Justin Forsyth, chief executive of the Save the Children Fund, an international nongovernmental organization promoting children’s rights and support in developing countries, as saying.

The latest figures from the United Nations say 373 children have died since the conflict began four weeks ago. Forsyth explained that the ads are meant to put the Gaza conflict into perspective, with the children’s names acting as a reality check for the public.

"We condemn all indiscriminate attacks on civilians in Gaza and Israel and by publishing these names, we are reminding the world of the urgent need to push for a permanent ceasefire. We must ensure that no more young lives are needlessly sacrificed," Forsyth explained.

The Guardian reported that the Israeli Broadcasting Authority had previously banned a radio advertisement from a human rights organization in Israel that listed the names of some children killed in the Gaza conflict.

Save the Children believes that even one child’s death is too many and hopes to share this sentiment globally. The charity is currently working on the ground in Gaza and the West Bank.
