Crew Dragon, a NASA-contracted commercial spaceship developed by the SpaceX company, docked to the ISS at 04:01 GMT on Wednesday. It was launched from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida on a Falcon 9 carrier rocket on Sunday, marking the US' first operational commercial crew mission to the ISS.

Sputnik is live from the International Space Station, where the Expedition 64 crew is holding a press conference with the astronauts from the Crew Dragon spaceship, who were welcomed aboard the ISS a day ago.

The team, that arrived for a six-month shift on Wednesday, includes NASA's Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover, Shannon Walker and Kate Rubins as well as JAXA's Soichi Noguchi.

The Expedition 64 crew includes Commander Sergey Ryzhikov and Flight Engineer Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, both Russian cosmonauts, and Flight Engineer Kate Rubins, who is a NASA astronaut.
