Boeing and JetBlue Airways are backing Zunum Aero, a Seattle-based startup with venture capital arms, aiming to create small airliner with two electric motors.

The aircraft will include 12 seats and fly over the chip and short 1,000 miles trips. The motor's technology is based on rapidly evolving battery technology and artificial intelligence systems, which help to get rid of obstacles during flights.

The use of electric motors for planes seems to be trendy nowadays, as two big air companies, EasyJet and Boeing both claiming they'll start using electric and autonomous flights in the near future.

The idea of Zunum Aero specifies the coverage of small regional flights, coming from small airports around big cities. This will help decrease flights  in expensive private jets. Also, as the company's founders claim, huge airports take time to get through security checks and crowds. This factor is engineered out with small local air hubs.
