TOMSK (Sputnik) – He explained that the robot might be sent into space in 2021 carried by an Angara rocket.

"In Magnitogorsk, a big work on the robot-avatar, a machine that will be able to conduct works that were earlier conducted by a cosmonaut in the aggressive environment, is being carried out. It will be able to work not only within, but also outside [a spacecraft]," Rogozin told students and scientists at the Tomsk Polytechniс University.

"This thing can work without a space suit, live not only in a crew vehicle but even outside it. Its name is FEDOR," Rogozin added.

Earlier on Thursday, Rogozin said that the Syrian war proves that the future of warfare belonged to modern robotic complexes and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
