During the next few days, festival visitors can experience the best and latest in science and technology from the UK, as well as from around the world.

An array of expert speakers are delivering lectures during the four-day celebration as well as providing immersive zones covering: Brain & Body, Technology, Earth and The Cosmos, to show how both science and technology innovations are shaping the world for everyone.

Event Director of the festival, Mike Sherrard told reporters on the first day:
"This show is the UK's newest and most ambitious festival of ideas and discovery. It is designed to showcase the very best in science, technology and engineering — and to blow your mind!"
Some key highlights on day one included robotic technology showcased by Imperial College London, called DeNiro, and named after Hollywood actor Robert DeNiro, as well as socially interacting robots Nao and Pepper, who visitors can learn about and meet in person.
The Bloodhound Project from the UK showcases a replica of the world's fastest land vehicle that can reach nearly 1000mph and provides a simulator experience on how it feels traveling at such high speeds.

Science representatives from Japan hosted a free lunch in order to communicate some exciting innovations emerging from the country, something that was mentioned as a key interest to attract international dialogue and collaboration.
There are is also a range of A.I. and virtual reality technology on display for people to try.
"It's so inspiring meeting and interacting with so many science experts, and I loved seeing UK astronaut Tim Peake here. I work in a different area, but science has always been a hobby of mine and I'd recommend this event to all other science fans too!" a visitor told Sputnik.
Visitors can take part in a range of fun experiences that will stimulate all the senses and may even help answer some of life's greatest questions with over 100 talks taking place across the four days.
