WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The Science and Technology Corporation in the US state of Virginia has been awarded a $39.3 million contract to support a project to simulate space exploration activities with computers before real-life missions are attempted, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said in a press release.
"Contract objectives include: modeling, simulation, analysis of systems relevant to the NASA aeronautics, exploration, space operations and science missions," the release explained on Monday.
The company will work with several departments in NASA’s Advanced Supercomputing Division and the agency’s Aeromechanics Office, according to the release.
The contract is for a two-year base and three one-year options, the release added.
