The second modernized Progress MS cargo vessel will dock with the International Space Station on Saturday, a representative of the Russian Mission Control Center told RIA Novosti.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Progress MS-2 was launched from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan aboard the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket on Thursday, March 31.

According to the representative, it is expected to dock with the ISS at 21:01 Moscow time (18:01 GMT) on Saturday, April 2.

The spacecraft is carrying over 2.5 tonnes (metric tons) of cargo, including fuel, food and technical equipment.

Manufactured by the S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia, the Progress MS is a modernized version of the Progress-M cargo spacecraft.

The first Progress MS cargo vessel (Progress MS-1) was launched to the ISS in December, 2015.
