WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will produce new missiles and also provide system upgrades, integration, sustainment, management and logistical support for the program, the Defense Department noted.
“Lockheed Martin, Missiles and Fire Control, Orlando, Florida, has been awarded a $116.8 million modification… contract for the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile program,” the statement said on Friday.
Lockheed Martin’s Joint Air-to Surface Standoff Missile is a long-range, radar-evading cruise missile designed to destroy hostile air defenses before aircraft are within range.
