WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has approved a nearly half a billion dollar contract to run its Enterprise Applications Competency Center (NEACC), the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) said in a press release.

"NASA awarded SAIC a $485 million contract to provide all services necessary to operate the NEACC…at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville,

Alabama," the release stated on Friday.

Under the Enterprise Applications Service Technologies 2 contract, SAIC will provide services to operate business and mission-supporting platforms, applications and infrastructure used across the agency, the release noted.

The contract begins on February 1, 2016 with a potential end date of March 31, 2024, the release added.

SAIC is one of the largest advanced technology corporations in the United States with 15,000 employees and annual revenues of approximately $4.4 billion.
