ST. PETERSBURG, September 26 (RIA Novosti, Olga Vtorova) - Experts will start testing a new aircraft engine destined for India at a St. Petersburg plant on Monday, a spokesman said.
The spokesman said the new Box Jellyfish engine, an upgraded model of the RD-33 engine for MiG-29 Fulcrum fighter, would be used for MiG-29s for the Admiral Gorshkov aircraft carrier, which Russia is currently modernizing for the Indian navy.
The new engine will be superior to the previous models in terms power and will retain all the advantages of the basic model.
