Navalny was transported to the German clinic on Saturday after he fell ill on Thursday while on a flight from Tomsk to Moscow. His press secretary suggested he may have been poisoned. However, doctors in Omsk, where he was hospitalised, said there were no traces of poison in Navalny's blood or urine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin did not participate in talks on the transportation of opposition figure Alexey Navalny to a German clinic, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

"No, this is not the president's prerogative at all. This is a doctors' decision that had to do with the patient's condition," Peskov said, when asked if the president was involved in the talks on the transportation.

According to Peskov, "there is no reason to hold international talks."

"I can only say that our relevant authorities did everything very fast, urgently in this case. All paperwork moments linked to the flight were resolved very fast," the spokesman added.

Navalny was transported to the German clinic on Saturday. He fell ill on Thursday while on a flight from the Siberian city of Tomsk to Moscow. The plane had to make an emergency landing in Omsk, where Navalny was hospitalised. His press secretary suggested he may have been poisoned. Doctors in Omsk said there were no traces of poison in Navalny's blood or urine, and that metabolic disbalance and sugar levels were the main potential diagnosis. The opposition activist remains in a coma.
