    According to the Russian Emergency Service's press service, ten people have been rescued from under the rubble, but the fate of dozens remains unknown.

    A gas explosion in the Russian city of Magnitogorsk occurred in a 10-storey residential building, killing at least three people and injuring many more.

    The deadly blast occurred at around 6:00 am local time (01:00 GMT), destroying 48 apartments — a whole section of the huge building.

      "As of 13:00 [local time, 08:00 GMT], 111 people were registered in the [collapsed block of the] house, nine people had rented flats, a total of 120 people. The fate of 52 people is known. Four of them were killed, 16 were evacuated, including seven children", the governor’s spokesman Dmitry Fedechkin told reporters.

      According to the spokesman, four people, including two children, were hospitalised, while the fate of 68 people was unknown.

      The Russian Emergencies Ministry later updated the information, specifying that the fate of 35 remained unknown while five people with varying degrees of injury were in the hospital.
