    Nine Detained in Russia Over Issuing Documents for Terrorists Supporters - FSB

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian authorities detained in Moscow nine members of the so-called migrant help center over issuing documents for terrorists’ supporters and illegal migrants, Russian Federal Security Service’s (FSB) press service said in a statement on Friday.

    "The FSB together with the Russian Interior Ministry curbed illegal activities of ethnic group members, involved in the organization of a channel for legalizing illegal migrants from Central Asia in Russia, including members of international terrorist organizations … As a result of an operation in Moscow, nine members of the group originating in Central Asia were detained," the statement read.

    The "migrant help center" where the illegal activities took place, was providing legal consultations on migration issues, the document noted.

    During the operation, two clandestine laboratories with equipment for issuing false documents were eliminated. Also, a lot of forms for issuing various documents were found in the facilities, the statement added.

    The issue of initiating criminal proceedings over the organization of illegal migration is currently being considered, according to the document.
