MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Cooperation between Moscow and Riyadh is not directed against third countries and should not cause anyone's concern, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.
"In general, the cooperation between Moscow and Riyadh, especially the military-technical dimension of this cooperation, is completely self-sufficient and does not have an orientation against third countries, whether in that region or in other regions of the world," Peskov told reporters.
The preliminary results of Moscow-Riyadh contacts on the supply of Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile systems to Saudi Arabia are good, Peskov added.
"The contacts on the implementation of this deal are very positive and have very good preliminary results," Peskov told reporters, answering a question whether the THAAD deal would affect S-400 deliveries.
Earlier this day, Russia and Saudi Arabia reached agreements on the supply of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as Kornet-EM anti-tank missile systems, TOS-1A "Buratino" heavy flame systems, AGS-30 grenade launchers and Kalashnikov AK-103 assault rifles.
