    Thirteen people died after a bus collided with a truck in Russia's Tatarstan.

    KAZAN (Russia) (Sputnik) — The death toll in Sunday collision between a bus and a truck in Russia's Republic of Tatarstan has increased to 13, Tatarstan’s Health Ministry said in a statement.

    Earlier in the day, a spokesman of the local Interior Ministry told Sputnik that the deadly road traffic incident, which occurred on Sunday night near the town of Zainsk, claimed the lives of at least 10 people and injured 12.

    "As at 6:30 a.m. local time [03:30 GMT] 28 people were affected, of whom 13 died at the scene of the road accident, including 2 children" the statement said.

    A representative of Tatarstan’s Health Ministry told Sputnik that 12 people were in hospital and three others were treated as outpatients.

    Tatarstan’s Interior Ministry has launched a case on the charges of infringement of road traffic regulations and the Republic's investigative bodies are considering whether to bring criminal proceedings with regard to the incident.
