MOSCOW (Sputnik) —  The center questioned 1,600 people from the age of 18 and older in 137 locations of 48 Russian regions. The majority of the surveyed (63%) responded positively to the question whether they want to see Vladimir Putin as the president of Russia after his current term expires in 2018, while only 19 percent of the respondents answered negatively.

The new results show a three-percent growth in comparison to the similar poll conducted in May 2016 and 30-percent growth in comparison with the results of a poll conducted in October 2012.

Last month, Levada center reported that the approval rating of President Putin reached 84 percent.
