MOSCOW (Sputnik) — First pilot of a Mi-8 transport helicopter that crash landed on Friday in northwestern Siberia said three were injured aboard after the accident, Russia's Federal Agency for Air Transport (Rosaviatsia) said later.
The pilot confirmed that that were 22 passengers and three crew aboard the helicopter when it crash landed due to poor weather some 82 kilometers to the northwest from Old Urengoy in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous region.
According to the pilot, the helicopter lies on its side.
Rosaviatsia also said a group of rescue workers will soon travel to the crash site, which have been already discovered.
