Merkel’s Doppelganger is a Professional Knife-Thrower in Rural Russia

Residents of a quaint village in Russia's Ryazan region have assured the press that their neighbor is none other than German Chancellor Angela Merkel. In fact, the retiree's name is Galina, and she's a pro at throwing knives.

In fact, she's quite accomplished at the martial skill. She set two world records at the 2008 World Cup  in Kaliningrad, achieving 545 points out of 600 possible.

This year, Galina was not able to attend the championship in Italy because she lacked the means.

“It is a shame I was not able to attend this year's World Cup in Italy. We do not have a set team. It's every man for himself. The best did not go to the competition as there is no money,” said Galina.

Over the past years, Galina has worked as an instructor, training special-purpose units.
