Russian Boxer Aloyan Tested Positive For Stimulant in Leaked WADA Documents

Russian boxer Mikhail "Misha" Aloyan, a silver Rio Olympics medalist, appears in the list of athletes who tested positive for doping this summer, alleged World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) documents leaked by the "Fancy Bear" hacking group reveal.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to the documents, Aloyan’s August 21 doping test showed the presence of tuaminoheptane (a nasal decongestant drug) in his body. The drug is considered a stimulant.

The alleged leaked WADA documents also showed that US diver Sam Dorman, who won silver in men’s synchronized 3 meter springboard in Rio, tested positive for banned amphetamine on August 20.

A number of other western athletes, including Germany’s discus thrower Robert Harting and Denmark’s swimmer Pernille Blume, who won one gold and one bronze medal in Rio, also tested positive for various banned substances in August, according to the leaked WADA documents.

On Tuesday, Fancy Bear leaked alleged WADA documents claiming that the agency had allowed US tennis players Serena and Venus Williams, as well as US gymnast Simone Biles, to take banned substances in various years for therapeutic purposes. WADA said that it had received information from law enforcement authorities that Russia was behind the hacking attack.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov later ruled out Russian involvement in the alleged cyber-attack on the WADA database.
