Russia did not coordinate with other countries its stance on a new rescue package for Ukraine which is put to vote on Wednesday in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Siluanov said that Russia would vote against the third IMF tranche for Ukraine.

"We will see on September 14. We have not concerted our stance with any countries which may have similar point of view," Siluanov told journalists, when asked whether Russia counted for support of some countries during the voting.

In accordance with the IMF four-year program Ukraine is receiving aid from a rescue package totaling to $18.5 billion. Kiev was granted two tranches worth $6.7 billion so far.

According to the IMF rules, the country is denied aid unless it settles its debts with the loaners in a good faith. Moscow filed a lawsuit against Ukraine in the London High Court in February after Kiev defaulted on repayment of a $3-billion loan that Russia granted to Ukraine in 2013 under the former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych.
