MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian President Vladimir Putin said that his daughters are involved in science and other activities of benefit to humanity, in an interview published Monday.
"In general, as I see it, they have already chosen their way, they pursue science and they are engaged in some activities that are noble and needed by people. They feel in demand, they enjoy their work and I am happy about it. They are responsible and honest about the profession they have chosen for themselves," he told Bloomberg in an interview when answering a question on whether he wanted his daughters to go into politics.
The president added that he did not believe he had the right to tell his offspring what to do for a living as they were grown ups and were able to decide for themselves.
The Russian leader has two daughters, Maria, who is 31 years old and 30-year-old Yekaterina.
