Putin: Stopping Outflow of Population From Russia’s Far East is Key Challenge
KRONOTSKY NATURE RESERVE (Russia), (Sputnik) — Ivanov is currently on a working visit to Russia's eastern Kamchatka Territory. During his visit, he has participated in a test launch of an underwater fiber optical telecommunications line that connects Kamchatka with neighboring Sakhalin and Magadan Regions and inspected the Yelizovo Airport located in the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

"It is impossible to reach positive results without development of such infrastructure and the state will continue to do its best to develop the infrastructure of the Far East," Ivanov said.

He added that such projects as reconstruction of Yelizovo could improve Kamchatka's attractiveness for tourists and increase the number of people willing to move there.
