VLADIVOSTOK (Sputnik) — The second Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) is taking place on September 2-3 on the campus of Russia’s Far Eastern Federal University on Russky Island near the city of Vladivostok.

"Gazprom has plans to connect West-Siberian gas deposits, fields and extraction sites, and our gas transportation system with the system in the Far East… These are not just plans. [Gazprom] has actually started to design this [construction] work. This is related to Gazprom's desire to expand its export markets," Putin said at a meeting with potential investors in Russia's Far East.
