MAHACHKALA (Russia) (Sputnik) – The counter-terrorist operation regime was declared in a rural area of the Russia’s republic of Dagestan on Sunday, a spokesperson of the operational headquarters told RIA Novosti.
“At 7:30 a.m. [04:30 GMT] the head of the operational headquarters decided to declare the legal regime of a counter-terrorist operation within the borders of the Tagirkent-Kazmalyar village of the Magaramkentsky region,” the spokesperson said.
The decision was made after a militant, who opened fire at police officers, was killed in the Magaramkentsky region.
