    German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier is due to visit the Russian Urals city of Yekaterinburg on August 15 to attend an event of the German-Russian Summer School on Energy Sufficiency and Renewable Energies, the German organizers of the event told Sputnik on Tuesday.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier, a source in the German Foreign Ministry confirmed to Sputnik that a visit by Steinmeier was "to take place early next week," without providing any further details.

    "There is going to be an opening event of our German-Russian Summer School in Yekaterinburg on August 15 and we expect Mr. Steinmeier to be there on Monday," Karoline Karohs, a representative of the Berlin-based institute TU-Campus EUREF, said.

    The Summer School, organized by TU-Campus EUREF together with Russia's Ural Federal University, will take place in Yekaterinburg on August 15-26.
