KHABAROVSK (Sputnik) — The electronic launches aimed at various targets were held at a distance of up to 500 kilometers (310 miles) from the complexes, the spokesman added.

"During tactical exercises with the participation of missile divisions of the district’s Primorye unit, the first digital launches from the Iskander-M tactical operational missile complexes were held," Alexander Gordeyev told reporters.

According to Gordeyev, the exercises are held at the Kapustin Yar range. The drills involve some 150 military personnel and 50 units of armaments and military equipment.

The Iskander-M (NATO reporting name SS-26 Stone) is a mobile ballistic missile system designed to destroy a wide variety of ground targets at a range of up to 500 kilometers. Primorye military received the Iskander-Ms earlier this month.
