People who are less aquatically able will feel right at home in Moscow this summer, after the designation of a special beach zone for those who can't swim, RIA Novosti reported on Tuesday.

/ "We are definitely planning an area for children, and for adults who can't swim. The depth will be no more than 1.2 meters and it won't extend more than 15 meters from the coastline," said Vasiliy Maryan, head of Moscow's aquatic search and rescue team.

/ "Beyond that the water will get gradually deeper, to a depth of two meters, and the area will be protected by buoys," he explained, and added that motorboats and other vessels will have to stay at least 50 meters away from the special swimming zone.
