MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian Foreign Ministry highly values professional skills of the Moscow State University’s Institute of Asian and African Studies (IAAS) graduates, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday.

“The Russian Foreign Ministry highly values the education level of the university graduates, who successfully work in various fields in the central office, foreign companies, including on the senior positions. I wish you and the professors, graduates and students further success in work and studies. All the best,” Lavrov said in a statement at the event commemorating the 60th anniversary of the IAAS, the central higher educational institution of oriental studies in Russia.

Established in 1956 on the basis of several departments of Historical and Philological faculties of the Moscow State University, IAAS offers professional training techniques in rare Oriental languages, such as Vietnamese, Khmer, Burmese, Tamil, Dari, Thai, Philippine, Mongolian, Swahili, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, Turkish and others.
