Foreign Ministry Agenda
Zakharova said that Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov will attend the so-called Normandy Four ministerial meeting in Berlin on May 11.
The Normandy Four, comprising Russia, Germany, Ukraine and France, was established in the summer of 2014 when the leaders of the four countries met on the sidelines of D-Day commemorations in Normandy, France, to discuss the Ukrainian crisis.
She sai the local elections slated for this year in eastern Ukraine will be the main issue during the talks.
The Russian top diplomat is also set to visit Belarus on May 15-16.
Situation in Syria
The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman slammed media reports accusing the Syrian government of the escalation of violence in Aleppo.
The true reason of violence in Aleppo is terrorist activity, not Damascus, Zakharova said, adding that Syrian opposition groups in the region are interlinked with terrorists.
"Not Syrian government forces are the main reason of the current escalation [in Aleppo]. The true reason are provocations of terrorists, who attempt to disrupt the ceasefire, which was established February 27."
The United States is unable to force Syrian opposition groups they support to cut ties with al-Nusra Front terrorists.
"Our American partners are so far incapable of forcing Syrian opposition groups they support to separate from al-Nusra Front."
She noted that al-Nusra Front terrorists get weapons and reinforcement via the Syrian-Turkish border.
"By hiding behind a number of armed opposition groups and sometimes engaging in tactical alliances with them, al-Nusra Front is trying to make up for their losses due to the influx of new fighters and weapons via the Turkish-Syrian border."
Moscow insists on a hard-loine fight not only against al-Nusra Front terrorists, but also against so-called opposition groups like Ahrar ash-Sham and Jaysh al-Islam, Zakharova said.
She added that the creation of a Russian-US center of monitoring the Syrian truce "has brought the cooperation on the crisis settlement to a new level."
"This cooperation could be more active, thus, more effective," she said.
Turkey's Violations of Greek Airspace
She said that the latest violations took place after the EU-Turkey deal on curbing the migrant flow to Europe.
Zakharova said that NATO turns a blind eye to violations of airspace of a sovereign state by its member.
The Greek military recorded over 1,400 cases of national airspace violations in 2015, according to aggregate incidents' data published on the Hellenic National Defence General Staff's website.
Reports on MH17 Crash in East Ukraine
The BBC aired the documentary titled "Conspiracy Files: Who Shot Down MH17?" which covered various theories of the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17's crash in eastern Ukraine. The documentary took evidence from eye witnesses, experts and secret intelligence sources, as well as studied satellite photographs, wire taps and videos in an attempt to divide facts from fiction in many conspiracy theories, involving Ukraine, Russia and the CIA.
A BBC spokesperson said the film took a "balanced viewpoint" in its reporting of the events. However, according to Zakharova, the BBC just outright ignored opinions from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Moscow is concerned that instead of conducting a professional investigation into the MH17 crash, media cites bloggers and sympathizers as experts.
"Some interim but important conclusions [concerning the MH17 crash] are made based on their assessments."
Bellingcat's latest report claimed that a missile that downed the plane was fired by a missile launcher belonging to the Russian military. Earlier, Bellingcat has published several reports on the tragedy, all of which accused Russia and which were dismissed by Moscow.
Flight MH17, with 298 people on board, crashed on July 17, 2014, in eastern Ukraine after being shot down en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam, leaving no survivors. Most of the victims were Dutch citizens. Donbass independence supporters and the Kiev-led forces were fighting in the region at the time of the crash, and traded blame for the incident.
Russian National Viktor Bout's Case
Maria Zakharova said that a statement by a US judge over the case of Russian national Viktor Bout "proves that the court's ruling is politicized."
"Of course, it all confirms our stance concerning the extremely politicized, and, most importantly, the fabricated nature of the charges and the court process against a citizen of Russia."
Bout was arrested in Bangkok in 2008 in a joint operation between Thai and US authorities, who accused him of conspiring to kill US nationals by allegedly agreeing to supply Colombian militants with weapons. Undercover agents posing as members of Colombia’s FARC rebel group were used as part of the operation.
