Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov told Sputnik in an interview that he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

GROZNY (Sputnik) – Kadyrov expanded on his admiration for Putin by expressing the Russian leader’s strong strategy, how thoughtfully he works, and how decisively he makes decisions, adding “only a gifted man can do this.”

“To Putin. Who else has deserved this? Not [German Chancellor Angela] Merkel or [US President Barack] Obama,” Kadyrov said when asked to whom he would award the prize.

Kadyrov said that Putin has surprised the whole world.

“I like our leader, I admire him,” Kadyrov added.

“The American president is now saying that Putin has this or that or a third type of press. Imagine that the most democratic state, the most quote-unquote democratic president who has killed hundreds of thousands of people gets the Nobel Peace Prize, and talks about democracy and the press. This is hilarious. There are scandals every day. It’s just funny,” Kadyrov said.
