Boeing to Assist Investigation Into FlyDubai Flight 981 Crash in Russia
05:13 GMT 19.03.2016 (Updated: 07:52 GMT 24.03.2016) Boeing extended condolences to the families of the FlyDubai 981 crash victims and expressed readiness to provide assistance in the investigation.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The US aerospace giant Boeing is ready to provide assistance in the investigation into the deadly crash of FlyDubai flight 981 in Russia’s Rostov Region, the company said in a statement.
"Boeing’s thoughts and prayers are with those on board flydubai flight FZ981 and their families and friends. Boeing stands ready to provide technical assistance upon the request of government agencies conducting the investigation," the statement says.
Earlier, Boeing spokesman Doug Alder
told Sputnik that the company was gathering more details on the crash.
FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 coming from Dubai with 55 passengers on board crashed at about 03:50 Moscow time (00:50 GMT) on Saturday while attempting to land amid poor weather conditions at the Rostov-on-Don Airport (ROV). All people on board the aircraft were killed in the crash.
The Russian Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case after the Saturday crash.
