"According to the plot of the exercise, simulated terrorists entered on the territory of the military town and attempted to mine and explode depots of material and technical resources. A counterterrorism division was alerted with an alarm. The servicemen practiced actions to block and destroy the simulated enemy in besieged checkpoints and near depots," the district said in a statement.
Extra duty units were deployed to assist the counterterror group. They created a smokescreen for regrouping and suppressed the enemy’s firing points using firearms. Sappers carried out engineering reconnaissance and defused explosives set up by the simulated terrorists.
As many as 100 servicemen participated in the exercise, using more than 10 units of military equipment.
