More countries from all over the world will participate in the International Military-Technical Forum Army-2016, which will also see an expansion of the exhibition venue, than last year, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Army-2016 forum is scheduled to take place on September 6-11 near Kubinka, a western suburb of Moscow.

"During the preparation for it, we shall increase the exhibition space and improve its infrastructure, expand the geographical-reach of the participating countries, create more attractive conditions for research organizations and industrial enterprises from the defense sector to exhibit," Shoigu said at a meeting of the forum's organizing committee.

The Army-2015 forum ran from June 16-19 at the Russian Armed Forces’ Patriot Park in Kubinka. The event was organized by the Russian Defense Ministry to demonstrate the latest in Russian weaponry. Representatives of as many as 70 countries, including 38 official delegations, took part in the forum, which also attracted tens of thousands of spectators.
