The arraignment of one of the five suspects in the murder of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov, Anzor Gubashev, will take place after January 10, his lawyer Moussa Khadisov said on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the Investigative Committee of Russia said that it was going to formally charge all five individuals suspected of involvement in Nemtsov's murder on Tuesday.

"Today, I was unable to appear before the Investigative Committee, and my client will be charged only after the [New Year] holidays, the final date has not yet been determined," Khadisov told RIA Novosti.

The New Year holidays in Russia run between January 1 and 10.

On February 27, Nemtsov, who was a prominent opposition figure in Russia, was fatally shot in central Moscow.

Five persons were detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder and put under arrest a week after the tragedy — Ramzan Bakhayev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, Shagit and Anzor Gubashev and Zaur Dadayev.

    Dadaev was arraigned on Tuesday.
