MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The reason for Russian opposition figure Boris Nemtsov’s murder is not in connection with his statement on Charlie Hebdo anti-religious cartoons, Vadim Prokhorov, the lawyer representing the Nemtsov family in court, said Friday.
“There was a version that the murder was in revenge for his statements in regard to cartoons in Charlie Hebdo, but this was not confirmed. The new accusation says that the murder was under preparation in September, but the cartoon was only published in January,” Prokhorov said in the courtroom in Moscow.
