The Russian national murdered by the Islamic State (IS, also known in the Arab world as Daesh) is Chechen, and his killers will not go unpunished, Chechen Republic head Ramzan Kadyrov said Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A video emerged online earlier in the week purportedly showing the beheading of a Russian national admitting to have spied for the Federal Security Service. The Islamic State is regarded a terrorist organization by Russia, as well as numerous other countries.

"This Russian national is Chechen. He was beheaded. There are proven facts," Kadyrov told reporters.

"I don't believe he worked there for someone. In my opinion, he was set up… Chechens know him, remember him and will not forget. One who killed a person from our republic shall not live… We will send him to the other side, give him a one way ticket," he added.
