    Air France's Boeing 777 Makes Emergency Landing in St. Petersburg

    Air France's Boeing 777 airliner heading from Paris to Beijing made an emergency landing at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport on Monday due to apparent engine failure, a source in the local emergency services said.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The airliner was carrying 269 passengers, according to the source.

    "On 20:00 Moscow time [5 p.m. GMT], the Boeing 777 landed at Pulkovo," the source told RIA Novosti, adding that "the preliminary cause is the failure of one of its engines."
