Discussing the matter with world leaders during the Paris climate talks, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow has evidence that the Su-24 was shot down by Turkey to protect oil deliveries of the ISIL terrorist group, also known as Daesh, and that oil from IS-controlled fields is being exported to Turkey on an industrial scale.

"We have every reason to believe that the decision to shoot down our aircraft was dictated by the desire to ensure the safety of supply routes of oil to Turkey, to the ports where they are shipped in tankers," Putin said.

Discussing the matter with world leaders during the Paris climate talks, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that most colleagues agree there was no need to attack the Su-24 bomber, as it was not threatening Turkey.

Putin also stressed that whether or not the order to shoot down the aircraft came directly from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, it was still a "huge mistake."

"We have heard from the Turkish side that this decision was not made by the president, it was made by other people. For us, it does not matter much, the important thing is that two of our servicemen died as a result of this criminal move," he told reporters.

In response, Erdogan denied that his country buys oil from Daesh, and called Putin's comments "slander."

"We buy from Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Qatar, and Nigeria. We won't accept such slanders," he told reporters in Paris.

He also added that he will resign from office if the allegations can be proven.

"The accusation that Turkey allegedly buys crude oil from the Islamic State is unacceptable, and to say it is amoral. You can't just say things, you need to present evidence," he said. "If documents exist — let's see them. If this fact is proven, I will not stay in my position."

Putin also said that the Syria conflict was to be a main topic of bilateral meetings during the summit, with hopes  that anti-terror cooperation with France, in particular, will "go further" than with other countries.

He said that despite the downing of the Su-24 by Ankara, Moscow will continue to strive for a broad, international coalition to combat the terrorist group, adding that he regrets the deterioration of relations between Russia and Turkey.

"I think that this is regrettable for all of us," Putin said. "And for me personally it's a real pity, because I myself did much to build up relations with Turkey over the course of a long period of time."

Speaking with US President Barack Obama, Putin stressed that there is a general agreement on Syria's future, and that new elections are necessary.

As the climate talks continue through the week, the White House has confirmed that Obama will meet with President Erdogan on Tuesday.

  • There is no chance of the damning evidence against Erdogan being published in Turkey, where all genuine journalistic enquiry is forbidden on pain of imprisonment. But, in the rest of the world, there is ample evidence that corrupt elements in Turkey, including Ergogan's son, are enriching themselves by trading in stolen Syrian oil.

coolerheads, Obama needs Putin to put an end to the Syrian crisis. Putin doesn't need Obama to put an end to the Syrian crisis...

Even if there is evidence, Erdogan will come out and say it was fabricated. The only way to get him out is if the U.S steps in and puts pressure on him. which so far they have not done. Or Russia starts to bomb them

Meet The Man Who Funds ISIS: Bilal Erdogan, The Son Of Turkey’s President
In addition to son Bilal’s illegal and lucrative oil trading for ISIS, Sümeyye Erdogan, the daughter of the Turkish President apparently runs a secret hospital camp inside Turkey just over the Syrian border.

Russia’s Sergey Lavrov is not one foreign minister known to mince his words. Just earlier today, 24 hours after a Russian plane was brought down by the country whose president three years ago said “a short-term border violation can never be a pretext for an attack”, had this to say: “We have serious doubts this was an unintended incident and believe this is a planned provocation” by Turkey.

But even that was tame compared to what Lavrov said to his Turkish counterparty Mevlut Cavusoglu earlier today during a phone call between the two (Lavrov who was supposed to travel to Turkey has since canceled such plans).

As Sputnik transcribes, according to a press release from Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lavrov pointed out that, “by shooting down a Russian plane on a counter-terrorist mission of the Russian Aerospace Force in Syria, and one that did not violate Turkey’s airspace, the Turkish government has in effect sided with ISIS.”

It was in this context when Lavrov added that “Turkey’s actions appear premeditated, planned, and undertaken with a specific objective.”

More importantly, Lavrov pointed to Turkey’s role in the propping up the terror network through the oil trade. Per the Russian statement:

“The Russian Minister reminded his counterpart about Turkey’s involvement in the ISIS’ illegal trade in oil, which is transported via the area where the Russian plane was shot down, and about the terrorist infrastructure, arms and munitions depots and control centers that are also located there

Obviously the rats are multiplying and getting a bit bigger when one has read this article on who are craving for oil at the Golan Heights of Syria and furthermore the information in this article makes clear of Mr. Cameron's true motives to fight in Syria as his friend media mogul Murdock is in the oil business as well.

    alesancofc,

The value Obama can bring is the ability to put political pressure on Turkey and Saudi Arabia to come to the negotiating table and play nice. They are both top-ten global military powers and can create all kinds of problems for Putin if they want to be troublemakers. Russia would win a conflict with Turkey and Saud, but it would come at an exorbitantly high price in both blood and treasure. It's much better for the U.S. to use its influence with them to keep the situation under control.

I want to see that evidence...world wants to see it!

    Quite the flank from Putin.
  • jas
It's not a good idea to challenge Russian intel to provide evidence. Russians don't bluff. If Putin says he can prove something, he can prove it.
  • marcanhalt
"He also added that he will resign from office if the allegations can be proven." And how will Russia prove its claims? By releasing copies to the Sultan and Miini Me? By taking the case to NATO which has already lost its objectivity by siding with Turkey even before gathering any pertinent facts? By releasing the information of the Turkish Press whose independent journalists are already in court on other matters pertaining to Erdogan? By releasing it to the German Press while Merkel is already in bed with Erdogan? Maybe the French Press? Surely not the UK or US Press unless, of course, you can find someone willing to print it where it will not be controlled by the Jewish BIg Media. Hey! Why not go to Israel's Haaretz! They love a good story! Yes, that is my suggestion.

coolerheads, It doesn't seem to me that Obama exerts any kind of pressure on those 2. And once those two are at the negotiating table the only thing they will do is they will try to push forward their agenda. They can play hardball or they can be nice. Whatever they will do, they will never get their way. P.S. Those 2 at this point are as hardball as they can be. They cannot do much more to worsen the crisis in Syria, because that's what they did by arming the terrorist organizations in Syria, by providing them with financial and logistical support. These 2 have reached their breaking point.

This comment is likely to be lost in the thousands here.
For those of you who read this I hope it gives you something to think about.
An important part leading up to the Iraq war was mapping out all the electronic signatures. In the lead-up to the actual fighting all the air defenses and communications network were mapped. This were some of the first targets in the opening attack. The defenses Saddam had were well known to attackers. Their electronic signatures and abilities totally defined and counter measures put in place.
Russia has improved its technology, however much of its new stuff has not been used outside of Russia. I have asked why would NATO rubber stamp Turkey shooting down a Russian jet? One answer is that they knew Russia would deploy their advance air defenses. They will be monitoring these so that they can develop counter measures. They may poke the Bear again hoping Putin will deploy the new jamming technology it has. So one reason the Bear is being poked now is to make the Bear show its claws!

hopscotch64, Sorry but you're highly mistaken. It's not capitalism that's the problem here as much as it's fractional reserve banking rip-off and their debt based economic system featuring paper dollars. If anything it's a perverted version of capitalism but that's through the fault of criminals and manipulators actually doing that, not the system of economics that made the standard of living in North America the envy of the world - (most likely) yours included. mOr did you forget that? And besides...what would you recommend? Socialism, Communism or outright authoritarianism? No thanks. Personally, I'm a Libertarian - an anti-state, anti-war and pro-market type who believes in capitalism because there isn't anything better to ensure freedom & liberty for those who want it.

President Putin is a serious-minded person. He is also a man of honor and integrity, who does not play politics with words, more so in a matter as serious as this. I believe him, as against the erratic President Erdogan. While Turkey shot down Russian bomber alleged 17 seconds violation, Turkey has violated Greek airspace over 1000 times in a year. And was in violation of Syrian airspace. Turkey is acting on behalf of ISIL
  • hopscotch64in reply tochuck(Show commentHide comment)
chuck, your reply does not hold water. First of all Capitalism did not make North America the envy of the world. Please study your US history, what made America great was Democratic Socialism. Such programs as the "New Deal", and taxing the Capitalist's at rate of 75% and reinvesting in the country and public school's. I could go on and on. I hope you get the point and is the United States after WWII was more of a Democratic Socialist nation than Capitalist. Now that the Capitalists since Reagan the country has become a true Capitalist state with overtones of fascist imperialism. So not I have not forgotten what you have not learned yet.
  • chuck
It might not hold water but it DOES make sense. You don't live in North America I assume? You talk about "the capitalists" like they're some political party or something. We're ALL capitalists. Everybody I know likes what money can do so they like money. And I bet you do too. Go ahead and admit it - YOU like money or at least what it can buy just like 99.95% of the rest of humanity. It's in our DNA. If you spend money YOU're a capitalist. If you own anything YOU're a capitalist. If you get paid for your labor YOU're a capitalist. The definition of which is:
an economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations, especially as contrasted to cooperatively or state-owned means of wealth.

Anyway, you should move away from wherever you're at and come here and live for awhile. Canada or the US it's almost the same. West coast is more...livable than the east coast. And while it isn't perfect, judging from your comments, it'd definitely broaden your horizons. Especially if you're the closet capitalist I think you are. This place has a way of doing that to folks. Good luck.
  • Patrick Era
President Putin is a serious-minded person. He does not play politics with words, more so, in relation to issues as serious as this. I believe him as against the erratic sultan Erdogan. While Turkey brought down an unprotected Russian bomber for alleged 17 seconds airspace violation, she, Turkey, has violated the Greek airspace over 1000 times in a year. It would take a fool to take erratic sultan seriously in matters like this.
